When visitors click the banners myDiary recieves a few eurocents from the advertiser. Using the generated income the cost for the website hosting and such are paid. Furthermore the advertisement incomes make sure we keep enjoying further development (and maintenance) of the site. More happy users means more visitors and thus (usually) more income.
